I’m in the Wall Street Journal!
The Wall Street Journal published my parenting article online today because Palin’s nomination has fueled the recent debate on working moms. We’ve begun to notice that our current approach to parenting is not working:
* We’re shooting our kids in the foot by making them the center of our universe, because
* Child-centered families create anxious, exhausted parents and demanding, entitled kids who act out.
* This is crucial because as these self-absorbed kids enter the workplace, America’s global leadership may be seriously compromised.
* It’s also ruining our intimacy in marriages. If children learn by example, we should be concerned about their future relationships.
We CAN create healthy families and raise citizens instead of consumers, if we put our marriages before our kids. Here’s the Wall Street Journal article .

Kids pick up on everything, and research shows that children can "catch" their parents' stress just like they catch a virus—soaking up the stress that pervades a household until their developing nervous systems reach "overload." Then kids act-out, or get sick.
