4 Year-Old Girl O.D.’s on her Own Psychiatric Meds Near Boston

Did you read the article in the front section of the NYT about the little 4 year-old girl who died just outside of Boston? She overdosed on psychiatric meds for her alleged “bipolar” disorder, for which she had been on a drug cocktail that would tranquilize a bear, since the age of two. A psychiatrist said that “bipolar” is a common euphemism for “aggression” among psychiatrists, and parents want a quick fix rather than dealing with how their parenting contributes to this. I predict this tragedy is the first of many to come.
Kids pick up on everything, and research shows that children can "catch" their parents' stress just like they catch a virus—soaking up the stress that pervades a household until their developing nervous systems reach "overload." Then kids act-out, or get sick.
